Martin asked me about the CE marked supers and then I thought I would help you with which boxes are possible. And maybe we can get Lia intrested in this too?? :o 8-) At least so sheand all other who wants to know which boxes are out there and how rare they are.

Off course there could be more variations, but this is my guess.

I will start with the polkadotboxes since I have these out of the boxes at the moment.

1995

You see on this catalogue picture from 1995 when they started with the polkadot boxes how they looked like then.

All these boxes are possible to find. I don´t have the Windmill box from 1995.

The first superboxes and the other also did not have any picture on the top of the box and slightly different writings so there could be more than one variation off each. I will not go into these small differences but they all had the headlogo on the box at this time.

Here are the years for these items so you can see which are rare.

Chimney: 95-98, 4 years.
Smurf in car: 95-97, 3 years.
Stickhorse: 95-96, 2 years.
Photographer: 95-96, 2 years.
Schooldesk: 95-04, 10 years.
Rockinghorse: 95-97, 3 years.
Airplane: 95-99, 5 years.
Papa with blackboard: 95-04, 10 years.
Hammock: 95-10, 16 years and still in production.
Papa in Rocker: 95-97, 3 years.
Logcar: 95-99, 5 years.
Vanitytable: 95-97, 3 years.
Bathtub: 95-98, 4 years.
Kitchen: 95-98, 4 years.
Smurf in bed: 95-10, 16 years and still in production.
Smurfette in car: 95-97, 3 years.
Diver: 95-96, 2 years.
Stork with baby: 95-97, 3 years.
Computer, CRTmonitor:95-10, 16 years and last year of production.

All 5 playsets made between 95 and 97, 3 years.

Gargamels lab: 95-09, 15 years.

This year they change to the new colours on the farm, windmill, Gargamels castle, large house, and cottages.

The Gargamels castle was sold in a nightpicture variation this year. I don´t have that box.

Large house and cottages were sold 96 and have been sold all the time to today.

Farm, windmill and Castles was sold to 2004. Gargamels castle was the only box they changed of these three.

2001-2010

So now to the last pictures.

2001 was the last year new supers or playsets were made.

5 new supers which have been made for 10 years and all are still in production.

And the kayaksmurf which was made for Prijon. The kayaksmurf was only made until 1998 and then they had not started with the circulair logo so this box was only sold with the Prijon Kayak.

Also a picture of all the boxes from 2009 with the new Peyo creation logotype.

Any idea why these are pretty hard to find now? Going by the years they were released, they should be fairly common especially the smurfette, but I think those were the supers that I had the most trouble finding, especially if compared with the 1997 supers which are pretty common and easy to find.

I think the years don´t tell everything, just gives you a hint. Because it also depends on how many they expect to sell and therefore how many they make. For example I don´t think they make as many smurfs each year today as they did when they were more populair.

Boxes are also hard to tell because most children buying them just throw they away.

For me it seems the smurfs which they sell more of like the Smurfettes are harder to find.

For example the disco smurfette was made for 4 years, but seems harder to find compared to other smurfs made 4 years???

I think the smurfs made recent years for only a few years will be hard to find in the future, but smurfs made for 4 years when Schleich made huge amounts of smurfs each year are not that hard to find??? :o :-?

40220 Schooldesk was also sold in the new polkadotbox with circulair logo. Probably because they started making this in China also when they started with the school playset in 2000.

André, I don`t know a lot about supers ( and I hope, all type of boxes will be described by you) so I have a question about this kayak prijon smurf.
Is it different in looks or markings from the other super kajak smurfs?
I have one, but it has no markings at all, it`s in the supersport smurf box.

Yes the Prijonsmurf was made in China and has the made in China- markings.

The one without markings on Kayak is the one made in Portugal. Sold as you say in the supersport smurf box( UK box).

Un...bel...iev...able!!!

Andre you have surpassed yourself. Schleich should have asked you to write the chapters 1965--> 2010!!!!!!!!!!!

I am pretty hardcore but the detail and knowledge (which I love) does not come close to you!! Thank you sooooo much for this!!
